I use Siteground for my web hosting and, in full disclosure, I am an affiliate for them. This means that if you click a link to Siteground from my website, and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission (at no charge to you). This allows me to run my blog while helping others to set up their own websites.
Before you start, think about what domain name you would like to use, since Siteground provides domain names at no extra charge. Use the name of your business, including location or keywords if possible. Make it short, easy-to-type, and memorable. Choosing a domain name is important when it comes to your brand and legal considerations, so please contact me if you have any questions.
Step 1. Choose Your Hosting Plan
SiteGround has three plans for hosting.
- The StartUp plan is perfect for people with one website that are starting now
- The GrowBig plan is a great value for money offer, including the option for multiple websites and the SuperCacher that greatly improves website speed
- The GoGeek plan is perfect for people with e-commerce and larger sites, or more geeky development needs like staging and GIT integration
Step 2. Choose Your Domain Name
As noted above, free domain registration is included in the SiteGround hosting service.
Step 3. Review and Complete
Unlike many other hosting providers Siteground’s discount applies to any of the initial periods chosen during the sign up process.
If you have questions about any of the above, feel free to contact me and I can help you finish the setup.
